Although it has already been more than one third of the century  since his sad passing away at the age of 42, his legacy hasn't weakened at all: the power of iconic figure of Elvis in the field of cultural heritage stays intact, moreover it even grows with time.
His 20-year music career was more than fruitful: he broke many of the world records in music business, including releasing 97 records in 20 years of career and spending 996 weeks on tops of music charts.

Micachu & the Shapes' New Album 'NEVER' Out Now

Micachu & the Shapes' second album 'NEVER' drops worldwide today! The follow-up to their 2009 debut 'Jewellery' was self-produced by the band, recorded at band member Marc Pell's studio in Stratford and mixed by Dillip Harris and the band.

We think the album cover looks like a Magic Eye picture (it's not - we tried and gave ourselves a migraine). It's actually, as the band explained to us, "70's Flock wallpaper put through the Micachu kaleidoscope".

You can get your hands on 'NEVER' at any good record store or from the following online sites: iTunes, Amazon, Rough Trade Records

Some nice words from the press about 'NEVER':

'Demented but catchy... Each listen is as fresh as the first' - 8/10 - NME
'MIA's younger, grungier sister' - 4/5 - The Financial Times
'Vital and fresh' - 4/5 - The Guardian
'Avant-pop's most lawless star' - Loud & Quiet

Over the past few months the trio Micachu, Raisa and Marc have been beavering away in their East London Docklands studio making music videos for EVERY track on the album which you can now watch HERE. Prepare to have your mind well and truly boggled...

In other exciting news, Animal Collective have hand-picked Micachu & the Shapes to support them on their US tour later this year. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.

CROATIAN BAND 'VJEŠTICE' RELEASED NEW SINGLE "AJMO SE DI BILO, CURICA"

They have not been teenagers for a long time, but they still didn't lose any of their youth wits. The popular Croatian group Vještice, and especially their composer and songwriter, Samuel (Srđan) Sacher (familiar for some of the biggest Croatian hits ever, such as "Moja prva ljubav" and "Totalno drukčiji od drugih") sound as refreshing as they have ever been.
After few years of pausing Vještice, renowned for very impressive mixture of rock and traditional Croatian music, got back on the scene with a new interesting single "Ajmo se di bilo, curica" (Girl, let's do it wherever), which contains provocative lyrics, but will surely amuse the listener and bring a smile to his face. :)
To ensure a high quality sound level, they have hired Andy Jackson for the mastering of the song. Jackson is an audio engineer who had cooperated with Pink Floyd for 30 years and has been nominated twice for the Grammy award for famous Pink Floyd albums "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "The Division Bell".
Besides Sacher, the song also owes to Boris Leiner, Miljan Bakić, Roy Nimai, Igor Barić, Jurica Jelić, Jurij Novoselić, Josip Lukin, Hernan Patricio Chambilla Cerreso and Janko Novoselić.

Vještice announced they would release a new single every 3 months and it would only be available in digital stores. For now they don't have plans for doing a physical release.
It is also interesting to mention that the guys from the band decided not to put the song anywhere for a free digital distribution (stream, Youtube, download links), but it would only and exclusively be available for listening on the regional radio stations.
