From Italy to New Zealand via new york - IDM licensed Bixio songs for the film "Love Story"

Another great synch has been put on the list of sucessful IDM's international collaborations. Frankin Rd & IDM Music have recently completed the soundtrack for the film "Love Story" directed by the New Zealand director and actor Florian Habicht.

Florian is responsible for some of this decade's most original New Zealand films, including Woodenhead, a Grimm inspired musical fairytale, renowned for the innovation of recording the entire soundtrack first, (including the dialogue with different actors) before shooting the visuals for the film.

This time, he has collected his experience of his 1-year living in New York and transformed it into a romance in a form of fictional documentary. Love Story sees filmmaker Florian Habicht finding a movie, a plot, and a beautiful Ukranian Masha, on the streets of New York and giving his own homage to the city and the notion of love.
Love Story has been picked to open the 2011 Auckland International Film Festival and has won the awards for best director, best film and best editor of the New Zealand film and television awards - "AFTA 2011".
The soundtrack of the film contains 9 Bixio tracks, including the songs by the Oscar winning composers Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone and Lalo Schifrin.

In memoriam - Carlo Andrea Bixio (1941-2011)

Next Tuesday, we will commemorate the first anniversary of a sad passing of our dear friend and mentor, Carlo Bixio, one of the biggest personalities in the world of contemporary Italian music and television.

Carlo was one of the sons of the famous italian composer Cesare Andrea Bixio, and has been involved in music his entire life. He founded the cult label Cinevox record and publishing company Edizioni Musicali Bixio, received multiple gold and platinum records and worked as a producer of various editions of the San Remo Festival. He also contributed significantly to the world of Italian television by producing some of the hottest series in the history of its existence.

Nevertheless, his legacy is still alive in the remembrance and the works of his collaborators and friends. The TV series "Un medico in famiglia" has seen its 7th season in 2011 and "I Cesaroni" got in its 5th year of screening. Also, one of the most popular Italian comedy actresses, Elena Sofia Ricci, has decided to re-join the latter project only because she has promised to Carlo Bixio that she would come back to the show, and, as she said, she wanted to keep her promise after his death.

Many of the people he worked with saw him as an exquisite and amusing person, a man of the exceptional sharpness and intelligence.

Carlo, we thank you one more time for everything you have taught us and for everything you left behind, on a road that is more than desirable to follow.
