In memoriam - Carlo Andrea Bixio (1941-2011)

Next Tuesday, we will commemorate the first anniversary of a sad passing of our dear friend and mentor, Carlo Bixio, one of the biggest personalities in the world of contemporary Italian music and television.
Carlo was one of the sons of the famous italian composer Cesare Andrea Bixio, and has been involved in music his entire life. He founded the cult label Cinevox record and publishing company Edizioni Musicali Bixio, received multiple gold and platinum records and worked as a producer of various editions of the San Remo Festival. He also contributed significantly to the world of Italian television by producing some of the hottest series in the history of its existence.
Nevertheless, his legacy is still alive in the remembrance and the works of his collaborators and friends. The TV series "Un medico in famiglia" has seen its 7th season in 2011 and "I Cesaroni" got in its 5th year of screening. Also, one of the most popular Italian comedy actresses, Elena Sofia Ricci, has decided to re-join the latter project only because she has promised to Carlo Bixio that she would come back to the show, and, as she said, she wanted to keep her promise after his death.
Many of the people he worked with saw him as an exquisite and amusing person, a man of the exceptional sharpness and intelligence.

Carlo, we thank you one more time for everything you have taught us and for everything you left behind, on a road that is more than desirable to follow.

The project "ULIKA" that Tamara Obrovac quartet formed in 1998, for the first time represented a new way of thinking and composing of Croatian ethno/jazz singer Tamara Obrovac: she blended in it a local Istrian music spirit with the universal jazz expression.
