Harold Perrineau in an interview with Croatian daily – Večernji list, thanked his Croatian friends with whom he is collaborating on his debut 'Seeker'. Talented actor, known for her roles in hit series 'Lost' and 'Oz', the 'Matrix' saga and box office hit 'Romeo Juliet', said that his ‘Croatian music link’ started with making the most out of an ugly situation. He met the main 'culprit' for the album, Tomo in der Mühlen in New York on September 11. Their children attended the same school, located next to the WTC and since than, the two families became great friends.

'In fact, Tomo and I were just playing around with music. It was something we did for fun while hanging out, but afterwards, when we listened to the songs, it became clear that we should record an album’, says Harold. Besides Tomo, many other internationally known Croatian musicians and producers collaborate on the album: Baby Dooks, Koolade, Dash, Zvonimir Dusper Dus, Tin Ostreš... Jadakiss, Kurtis Blow, and Vernon Reid will also guest on the album, so keep your ears opened in the coming months.

Harold did not neglect his acting career. Coming soon to theaters is his latest work, a film by Roger Donaldson and produced by Tobey Maguire. In ‘The Hungry Rabbit Jumps’ Harold will start next to Nicholas Cage and Guy Pearce. It seems Harold will be a success in the world of music, and who knows, maybe we’ll see him soon in a musical!

At this year's Belgrade Beer Fest, the largest and richest beer festival in the region, the Belgrade audience will enjoy the performance, the first in 25 years, of the Croatian group Aerodrom (The Airport), led by singer and guitarist Jurica Pađen.

Aerodrom is among the most popular '80s rock bands in the former Yugoslavia. This year they will share the stage with big names of the regional rock scene such as: Partibrejkers, Kiril Dzajkovski, Riblja Čorba, Bajaga i Instruktori, Pankrti, Siddharta, YU grupa, Skroz, Neno Belan and Van Gogh. These performers will definitely enrich the musical content of the Belgrade beer festival and the experience of an average 100 000 visitors per day. The five-day musical - gourmet event will run from August 18 to 22, with more than 350 musical performances and tasting of over than 70 beer brands. We should mention that the entrance is free of charge!

Aerodrom, most known for its hits for hits such as ‘Stavi pravu stvar na pravo mjesto’, ‘Fratello’, ‘Digni me visoko’ and ‘Što si u kavu stavila’, will be playing on Thursday, August 19, 9:15pm and, since Belgrade has had to wait a quarter century for their concerts, a great time and a good atmosphere are guaranteed!


Stage Three joins BMG family

BMG Rights Management announced last week the signing of an agreement to acquire Stage Three Music from its shareholders, Apax Partners, Ingenious Ventures and the Management.

Stage Three is a leading independent, international music publisher founded in 2003 and run by ex-Virgin and Chrysalis CEO, Steve Lewis. The business is headquartered in London, with offices in Los Angeles and Nashville. The company holds the rights to a variety of contemporary compositions performed by Aerosmith, David Essex, Duffy, The Eagles, Eminem, Eric Clapton, Inner City, James Morrison, Johnny Hates Jazz, Mike Oldfield, Rascal Flatts, Take That and ZZ Top. Music rights include the well-known compositions 'Walk This Way’, ‘You Get What You Give’, ‘Gimme’ All Your Lovin’’, ‘La Grange’, ‘Baker Street’, ‘Dream On’, ‘Good Life’, ‘Sing For The Moment’ and 60 country music No. 1 singles.

This is BMG’s third investment of significant size made in 2010 and follows the acquisition of Cherry Lane and the Adage IV catalogue in the US. Harold Perrineau's musical career is heating up as the summer moves on. The talented actor, renowned for his roles in ‘Lost’, ‘Oz’, the ‘Matrix’ series and ‘Romeo + Juliet’, will be taking the gorgeous Universal City Walk outdoor stage this Saturday, July 24, at 8.30pm.

Harold will perform a live set - a preview to his upcoming and long expected debut album. ‘Seeker’ is scheduled for winter release and Harold says that it will reflect the level of creativity and versatility he has always pursued in his acting career. The album’s producer, Tomo J. in der Muhlen, describes ‘Seeker’ as organic and emphasizes that every sound on the record is recorded live from live and even vintage instruments, with no artificial and digitally produced sound, which is not as common in today’s music. Jadakiss, Kurtis Blow and Vernon Reid will be guest staring on the upcoming singles, so keep your ears open in the upcoming months.

Legendary American musician Joe Joseph Bowie, the founder of the cult jazz and funk group Defunkt, considered by many as one of the best trombonist in the world, will play two concerts in Croatia this summer.

For several years now, Bowie is intensively collaborating with Croatian funk force, The Bastardz, who will join him on the stage. The first Joe Bowie and The Bastardz's concert will be held in Mali Lošinj on Thursday, July 22, at the main square. A day later, on Friday July 23, they will perform in Poreč at Trg Slobode. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the energetic funk with hits from these talented performers.

Joe Bowie comes from the famous musical Bowie dynasty (Lester Bowie, one of the best trumpeters, founder of the Art Ensemble of Chicago; Byron Bowie, saxophonist and arranger) and is considered by many as one of the best trombonists in the world. In his long career he has collaborated with leading names in the world of jazz, funk and beyond, and his band Defunkt, rocked the dance floors and jazz festivals around the world creating a unique combination of funk and jazz.

Bowie also collaborates with The Bastardz's, triple award winners of Croatian music award - Porin and one of the best Croatian musicians, on their sixth album – ‘The Bastardz 6 ' that will be released this year. We should mention that MC Stewlocks, a virtuous of rap, will join Bowie and Bastardz on their concerts in order to promote The Bastardz/MC Stewlocks single ‘Knock, Knock (Seems Were You sleepin ')' that will be released by IDM Music.
