WISH UPON A STAR

After winning multiple Grammies and being honored by many halls of fame (such as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame), a great musical legend Roy Orbison will finally be honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. 22 years after his death, Orbison will receive a star at the unveiling ceremony on January 29, to be attended by his wife Barbara and their sons Roy Jr. and Alex. Orbison was one of the pioneers of Rock and Roll which he influenced in countless ways during his career spanning four decades, often departing from the norms of the genre and thus creating a new expression and sound.

About The Hollywood Walk of Fame:
With its lengthy tradition of installation of stone block stars representing the globally famous and important people of motion pictures, television, radio, live theatre and recording (collectively known as “The Industry”), The Hollywood Walk of Fame became one of the most popular tourist spots in the United States and one of the primary associations with Hollywood. The sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood now feature 2393 stars bearing the names of both human celebrities and fictional characters awarded by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to the entertainment industry.
