The International Day of Happiness
24 hours of HAPPINESS! For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness. It truly is a gift being able to see the silver lining of a bad situation. What’s even better is being able to pass that gift around. Support the International Day of Happiness! ☺
The Day of Happiness campaign is a global celebration to mark the UN International Day of Happiness. It is coordinated by Action for Happiness, a non-profit movement of people from over 140 countries.
The most important thing is to enjoy your life, to be happy, in the end that’s all really matters. If you don’t generally have the chance to express your happiness today defiantly is! Go out, enjoy the day, the people, friends, family, acquaintances, even the people you avoid. Happiness is a warm puppy, enjoy those deep breaths you take after laughing too hard, there is nothing better than that feeling you get after a long laugh, having a sore stomach for the right reasons. The great John Legend once said “ Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears. “
Go share your happiness around and don’t forget to listen to the one and only Pharrell song Happy! Dance to it sing to it and just simply be happy!
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony – Mahatma Gandhi
2014’s Oscars is finally here
We are excited to announce that the Oscars are finally here! In 2 days, March 2nd we will see who takes home the big wins.
Happy to say that American Hustle which bought our songs: To The Station by Evan Lurie and La Chatte A La Satie by Gian Piers Picconi is nominated for many awards this year.
The Oscars is the biggest award winning event of the year, and watching stars we represent take home so many awards this year, we can’ wait to see who will be the big winner at the Oscars.
American Hustle has been nominated in many categories. They are going up against great movies like, Nebraska, Captain Phillips, Philomena, Dallas Buyers Club, 12 Years a Slave, Gravity, The Wolf of Wall Street, Her, etc. American Hustle is nominated for Best Picture, Best Costume Design, Best Directing, Bes Film Editing, Best Production Design and Best Writing.
American Hustle also has great actors/actresses being nominated for best leading and supporting roles. The amazing Christian Bale from American Hustle is going up against Chiwetel Eiofor (12 Years a Slave) , Bruce Dern (Nebraska) , Mathew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club) and Linardo DiCaprio (The Wolf of Wall Street). Christian Bale has done many movies which in each one he does an incredible job, playing a innumerably different roles and it is amazing the way he gets into character that it makes it hard to believe that he is only acting, he actually becomes the role! Amy Adams from American Hustle is nominated for best actress. She has Judi Dench (Philomena) , Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) , the one and only Meryl Streep (August: Osage County) and last but not least Sandra Bullock (Gravity). Amy Adams did an amazing job, and no doubt in our minds is an great actor, but she sure does have a tough competition especially with Meryl Streep up her sleeve who is probably used to winning leading role Oscar awards. Bradley Cooper from American Hustler got nominated for the Best Supporting Role. Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) , Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) , Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) and Michael Flassbender (12 Years A Slave) have also been nominated for the Best Supporting Role. For The Best Actress Supporting Role last years Best Actress Leading Role winner Jennifer Lawrence is once again nominated this year but for the Best Supporting Role. Last year she won for her role in The Silver Linings which also bought music from us and this year for her supporting role in American Hustle. Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmin) , Julia Roberts (August: Osage County) , June Squibb (Nebraska) and Lupita Nuong’o (12 Years A Slave) are also nominated for the Best Supporting Role.
Tomorrow night is going to be an interesting evening with all these talented people being nominated. We also have Despicable Me 2 nominated for the Best Animated Feature Film and for one of this years biggest hits which we partly represent, Happy by Pharrell Williams which is of course nominated to win the music category.
PHARRELL IS BACK
With Pharrell Williams cleaning out the house at the the Grammy's, bringing home the most important awards of the night, we now expect him to rock the house on Saturday at The Oscars!
With 2013 in his pocket he is now ready to take on the industry in 2014 with his upcoming album
G I R L.
With his G I R L album Pharrell delivers a sophomore solo album full of giddy, oft-kilter soundscapes and exuberantly experimental chords.
The album starts off with the violin-heavy Marilyn Monroe song which Pharrell dives headfirst into a limpid pool of synth beats and breaststrokes the track with his signature falsetto.
The song Brand New has a plucking guitar riff that slowly snakes into a layered symphony of instrumentation as he duels with Justin Timberlake.
The song Gush allows Pharrell to reveal his inner freak with lines like, Give me that sweet, that nasty, that gushy stuff.
Of course the one and only song Happy is on the album that influenced many citizens all over the world to make their own personal music video. Come Get It Bae features Miley Cyrus, employs a hypnotic handclap-laced beat reminiscent of early Neptunes production. G I R L is available for pre-order now on iTunes.
I'm pretty excited for this album to finally come out, how bout you?
