DAMIR IMAMOVIĆ SIGNED A PUBLISHING DEAL WITH IDM MUSIC

IDM Music is very happy to bring you a completely different musical experience in our publishing roster.
This week we present you our latest signing - the best contemporary singer of the traditional Bosnian "sevdalinka", Damir Imamović.

It has been a mystery for years how to properly translate the word "sevdah", which represents a specific genre of folk music from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the closest parallel the people came up with was "bosnian soul music" or "bosnian fado". The music that is characterized by a slow or moderate tempo and intense, emotional meodies and passionate singing, has been a part of the musical tradition of Bosnia Herzegovina since the Middle age and it still lives with new interpretations and new contemporary approaches. The best new interpreter of "sevdalinka" so far is young and talented Damir Imamović, the grandson of the legendary sevdalinka singer Zaim Imamović.

Damir started exploring sevdah since 2006, when he formed the band Damir Imamović Trio. He has published 6 albums so far and held concerts throughout Europe. He also participates in project "SevdahLab" that explores the origins and esthetics of this traditional art with numerous lectures and scientific researches.

PAUL MCCARTNEY RELEASED A NEW ALBUM

Paul McCartney has released his sixteenth studio album 'New' this week. The album is his first collection of original songs in six years and features his latest single 'New'.

McCartney said about the album: "It's funny, when I play people the album they're surprised it's me. A lot of the tracks are quite varied and not necessarily in a style you'd recognise as mine. I didn't want it to all sound the same. I really enjoyed making this album. It's always great to get a chance to get into the studio with a bunch of new songs and I was lucky to work with some very cool producers. We had a lot of fun."

Paul worked on the album with producers Paul Epworth, Mark Ronson, Ethan Johns and Giles Martin (son of Beatles producer George Martin).

The album is available for licensing opportunities. Enjoy!
